Our History

Founded more than a decade ago this event has been a fixture in downtown Morehead for years. Traditionally held on the third Saturday in September, it has grown into a lively celebration of over 50 artisan booths, regional food vendors, and live performances!

Our Mission

The Morehead Arts & Eats Festival brings together regional artists, food vendors, musicians, and community members to celebrate Appalachian craftsmanship, creativity, and flavor. Our mission is to:

  1. Highlight the talents of local artisans and food vendors
  2. Showcase local arts, music, and culture in a downtown street-fest atmosphere
  3. Foster community connection, support economic growth, and give back.

Why It Matters

Morehead Arts & Eats isn't just a market—it’s Appalachian culture, creativity, and community pride. By gathering dozens of artisans, musicians, food vendors, and performers in one shared space, we create a taste of Morehead—for locals and visitors alike—while supporting local entrepreneurs, preserving artistic traditions, and showcasing the very best of our region.
